Off-topic, but I appreciate any help.

I notice that the picture montage loads very quickly, and I'd REALLY like to know how to do that. Every time I want to show family/friends an overview page, they complain that it takes too long to load, since I have only the "high res" versions of the images.

Is there software available that will generate thumbnails for me? TIA.

Hi Bill -
I still use Microsoft FrontPage to create all my web pages (about 1500 pages so far). It has a "thumbnail" button. I just drag the hi-res photo to the place where I want it and then poke the thumbnail button - that creates a small size photo (I picked 240 pixels wide) with a link to the big one. So when you download the page, you are only getting the small ones. Really easy, although I wish there was also a way to just click through all the hi-res photos too.
Anyway, since FrontPage is easy to use,incredibly useful, and creates very straightforward html, it was, of course, abandoned by Microsoft several years ago. I have never found a replacement that was as easy to use, would track pages as well, etc. However it does still run, even on Windows 10.

If you don't create a separate thumbnail image, then you'll get a download of the original image which then gets resized for display - which is why your pages load slowly.
