Here's the article from ARRL:

http://www.arrl.org/news/undersea-expedition-planned-to-retrieve-titanic-s-radio-gear

A company with salvage rights has signed an agreement to recover the Titanic's Marconi transmitter.

I visited the Titanic exhibition in Las Vegas at the Luxor and it is beyond amazing. They've recovered tons of artifacts from the site, including a section of the hull, and it's on display. When we visited in 2015 they had built a replica of the grand staircase. https://www.instagram.com/p/7RMix_oULW/?igshid=5ppw2e4oyocj It would be amazing to see the actual transmitter too!

I looked up a YouTube video of one of the dives that showed the radio in its current condition. As you can imagine it's in pretty bad shape being on the bottom of the ocean for over 100 years.

It'll be interesting to see if they can accomplish this.

I was in Las Vegas myself when you posted this, I had actually heard of the Titanic Exhibition but had forgotten about it. Your post prompted me to go and see it myself and it is well worth seeing.

The one in Vegas is the main one from what I gather. The wife and I stopped by the smaller exhibit here in Scottsdale, AZ on Valentines Day. They're showing the one here until April. I guess they travel around.

If they manage to get the transmitter they'll probably display it in Vegas. I'll definitely make another drive up there for that one.
