Red part turned in for a refund.

I bought a round block of aluminum and built a 40 meter CW transmitter out of it. Power output is 9 watts with a 13.8vdc power supply.  It'll look nice on the desk paired next to my 20 meter QRP transmitter.

I was having a QSO with the 20 meter version, and he complimented me on the quality of the rig's sound. He said that homebrew rigs usually have chirps and the tone isn't steady.

I'm using an IXDD driving a FET and there may be key clicks there, but at such a low power level I'm not too concerned. I'm just keying the oscillator power going to the IXDD.  The FET and driver have power all the time. The 20m FET is an IRF-510 and an FQA11N90 for 40 meters.

Thanks! I like to think of it as art.

I just made my first QSO with it. Nothing earth shattering for distance, but respectable. NQ6B, Tom near San Diego.

I like how the flux was cleaned off.
