Westinghouse reactor, 12Hy, 126 ohms, 240 mA  with the codes L-303594 and CTR-30187. Wondering about voltage rating...

I need a choke input filter for the 866 rectifiers I want to use, anyone have any idea if this thing will live at 2-3 kV?  I have a 1900-1500-0-1500-1900 transformer I want to use, would you risk it??  The choke will be mounted with the frame grounded to the chassis/earth/electrical safety ground.

Can you put it in series with the common lead instead of the HV lead?  If so, problem solved.  It will filter just as well.

You might also resonate it at 120 Hz by putting a cap across the leads.  Less ripple.

does the frame have to be grounded?  If not, isolate it with some insulating material.

His fear was when I turned it on for the first time life on earth would come to a stand still.

I’m my world, all large metal objects are at dc ground. It’s a safety issue I refuse to compromise on.

Look at the insulators on it, there is your answer.  HV all you want.

(I have an identical unit, was working @ 3kV.
