After more than 40 years plus of collecting and restoring broadcast and amateur radio gear, It is just time to trim down. I am listing for sale one of the golden eggs of my collection. This 30K-1 and 310A-3 was restored by me about 20 years ago, has been with me for over 30 years and I had spared no expense in the restoration at that time. The entire transmitter and exciter was stripped and repainted correct Saint James grey which I had specially made by Randolph paints, one of the suppliers of paints for Collins back in the 50's. The inside of both cabinet were also painted the correct grey color. Each chassis was completely cleaned and parts replaced. all hardware was replaced with new stainless screws and nuts. The original wiring cable between the exciter and transmitter was custom made with  new wiring and shrink tubing. The original cable was just worn and brittle.....I may still have it and if I do it will be included. The front panels on both units were resilked screened and look amazing, all stainless strips were polished to a great shine. A custom made dolly, which is seen in the pictures, is included and was made of stainless with the art deco look in mind. I have both hi-band, installed and low-band, in the picture, coil sets for the final and a spare heater coil for the low power tune position. One thing I had done was to install 100TH's because I couldn't find a good pair or 75TH's....this is the only modification done. The original alan keys are in the back of the door...these are always missing. I had custom made dust covers for both units along with the original manual. I have additional pictures I can send on request. If you were looking for a pristine 30K-1 for your collection, you will not be disappointed with this radio. This will be a PICK-UP ONLY on Long Island as I will not ship this beautiful piece of history. If you want to make arrangements for your agent to ship, I will work with him.  This is an outstanding transmitter for any collection, properly done. Asking $6999.00

I hated to see it go, but you can’t be the curator of the museum forever......sometimes you have to pass the torch.
It was like saying good bye to an old friend.
