I'm still in discovery mode on this. Just got my nanoVNA and I'm discovering what I've been missing! Just lining up all the winter projects! Share some feedback with us - please!

LTspice comparison?  Oh no no no... This is high dollar stuff.

Prices - U.S Domestic Prices Only
     Cash Price    Credit Card Price
Micro-Cap 12    $4495    $4720

(per seat, that is..)

LTspice is great and will do a lot, I am grateful for it and enjoy it. Of course it is a sales tool and a very nice one.

MicroCAP 12 is in an entirely different class. This is paid engineering and lab tool for electronics design and investigation without regard to from whom you buy parts. Quite different and far more versatile.

They didn't have to give this software away. They could have sold it off, source and all.

I believe we owe the generous people of Spectrum Software a big

THANK YOU!

Indeed; a big thank you to Spectrum Software, and to the OP for letting us know about the free download.  My favorite circuit sim program is my old copy of National Instruments EWB-9, but I have to maintain a working XP machine to run it.
A high-dollar sim program for free - anyone who uses sim programs would be crazy not to snag this one.  Now we just need someone to create some tube models for it...

yeah, this is a good find.  Like KD1SH, I acquired National Instrument MultiSIM student version which came later after EWB. The student version was $40 and is a nearly complete full version and a smaller set of libraries.  I bought a copy via my wife when she was taking art classes.

Thanks, SQQ

"Now we just need someone to create some tube models for it..."

I spoke too soon; it does have tube models!  A total of 457 in fact: 140 pentodes, 266 triodes, 22 tetrodes, and 29 diodes.  No 813's or 4-400's, but anyone with Spice skills should be able to massage any of those models into whatever they want.

Glad to be able to give back to the group who I’ve learned so much from!

If you get any errors  in MC12 that look like program malfunctions after installation and when first trying it, then restart the computer. May not apply to everyone.

running analysis also will eat CPU, so hope people have some cores.

transient analysis of CHAOS 4 circuit. this is super-nice. BTW I get little 'error' dialogs about 'breakpoints' I do not understand, but upon OK or Close, it works on the requested analysis and just takes a while for the computer to think about it, so don't be discourages, be patient. Seeing typically 2-3GB memory in use while working, and it can hit 100% on 8 cores for a moment, but usually around 20-40% at most.
