Don you are bending my S meter tonight at 8:15 and I have my RF gain retarded.  I hear Tim through the static as well.  Started to answer you but knew you would have lots of answers.  

I think a couple of guys that answered you were West of me so propogation is good and you would be working the West coast if the static would die.
