It suddenly is revealed what "Summer" means. It means to sum all of the special things about the season.

=SUM(
Days over 89 degrees F;
Days over 60% humidity;
Breezeless 90 degree nights;
Still afternoons;
Mosquitos;
Flies;
Ticks;
Hot dumpsters;
Wasp nests;
Fire ants;
Smarty who says "Let's all pile in my car, it's just 40 miles" knowing the a/c is broken;
Same driver who is too cheap to run car a/c;
Generally any broken fan or HVAC unit;
Electricity mains failure;
Involuntary participation in "rolling backout";
Big transmitter in poorly ventilated shacks;
15 cents per KWH;
Outdoor sports of standing around/running around in the sun;
Coat-and-tie cocktail party thrown by "energy efficiency nut";
Mandatory government and corporate "comfort" thermostat settings;
Centrally controlled facility air conditioning;
Whatever poor thing has passed away and is slowly rotting in an inaccessible place;
Rash;
Poison ivy/Oak/pick your own;
"Natural" person with aversion to soap;
Stinky person on public transport;
Wet dog at friend's house encouraged to greet visitors;
)

Much of this is not such a big deal considering that many persons globally don't have climate control, but the bugs are a menace! Winter seems not to have killed them all..

I totally forgot:

Big Storms and Power Outages!

Dallas, Texas. huge outage.

some haiku:

The generator, monstrous and able.
A gallon per hour, the machine song.
3 days, my wallet cries.
