My wife was watching the CBS show "Young Sheldon" which presumably takes places in the 70's or 80's. Sheldon was using a Capehart shortwave receiver with what appears to be a magnetic loop antenna. Looks like the directors were not period accurate in their choice of antennas!

That's a homebrew link coupled tuned loop. Perfect choice for indoor SWLing during any decade!
