Making AM GREAT Again!

« on: December 23, 2018, 07:52:00 PM »

Bob,

Saw your post in the for sale section.

Check q1 through q3 and the associated capacitors around that circuit.

I'd also wonder, is it pulling zsac when keyed, and no rf getting thru....  Or more like ground the ptt and it acts like nothing happened.

I own one.....  Great battleship looking amps.  Have bugs, work them out and they work well.  But, not kne schematic will match what is in front of you.....  I got lucky and mine came with a hand drawn schematic from Viewstar that matched what the amp was....

Thank you Shane.   I appreciate that.   Will get into the situation in a few months.   Want to bring it back to it's total life and of course, do it right.   May have to call upon you for your schematic.

Appreciate your time

Not a problem.

//Supposedly// mine is the one they fixed a bunch of problems with.  //Supposedly// that means it's the one KM1H did some work on.  The serial number does fit the timeframe, so who knows.

Anything I can help with, other than Millen connectors, please let me know 🤔😁

Shane

Possible for you to send me a copy of your schematic?  Like to have a perfect schematic before jumping in.

I thank you

Bob,

I'll scan and send tonight.  If I forget, please remind me.  After blasting myself with 6kv three weeks ago, the mind is semi forgetful.

Hi Shane

looking like I have found some time to get with a friend who has decent workbench and is willing to take on the 2500 project.   If. you have the schematic, I will appreciate that very much.

Best to send it to:
K9EID@arrl.net

Really appreciate that.

I finally got the microphone connector situation all worked out - built it using one of our 'stealth' shells.  Works great and the little MARS is on the air.  so much fun.

Really appreciate your help.
