When tuning the Load control at a certain point the control will fall due to gravity. Evidently over time the axis has become loose. Is there a way to tighten up on this?

I posted this question due to having little experience with the 220 and my natural tendency is to take something apart and ask questions later. Waiting for a reply my impatience got the better of me.

On the back of the variable is a screw with a locking nut. Inside the brass screw is a ball bearing and over time brass being a soft metal had worn causing the bearing to recede inside the capsule. All it required was the screw/ball bearing to be cleaned, lubricated with grease and tightened further into the variable and the locking nut tightened. I now have very good tension on the Load Capacitor of the Heathkit SB-220.
