There will be five or six hams from Burnsville, NC going there this year.

There are about 20 of us who tailgate together in the "Boatanchors!" banner area.
Weather forecast looks pretty good so far.
For photos of past Shelby hamfests, see

See you there!

Our usual "Boatanchors!" gang has reserved 30+ tailgate spaces in the area marked on this map.

The weather was sunny but hot. Seemed like many more tailgaters than last year.
The boatanchors were out in full force. I have posted about 200 photos here -
http://www.virhistory.com/ham/shelby_2018.htm

Lots of Hammarlund at reasonable prices ($75 for working HQ-170).
Lots of Heathkits, both SB series and Mohawk/Apache line.
Lots of Johnson transmitters,
Lots of Collins R-388 receivers, as well as many R-390 and R-390A
The usual assortment of Drakes and S-line
And there were some rara avis as well...

Thanks for posting the photos, Nick. Not having a chance to leave my tables, I didn't get to see much at all until now. Man, there sure were quite a few goodies down there this year! Only thing I came back with was a complete Viking II cabinet; a new home for the V one chassis that's here to re-work, so I managed to buy only what was needed. Excellent!
R-388 came back home with me... oh well.
