On page 8, C. 3. c.  says to turn the Meter switch to the "PLATE" position. The meter needle then indicates 30mA of current. Is this normal? Is there always a "resting" plate current of 30mA. This indication is when the OPERATE switch is in STANDBY. When in the OPERATE CW position the meter indication rises to 50mA.

Disregard. This current is due to the clamper tube 6AQ5 conducts during low plate values for final protection.
