I have acquired a dolinko & wilkins vacuum variable with the markings "VC 100-42-20"  Does anyone know what these numbers signify?

Looking at Dolinco and Wilkins capacitors on Ebay and at MaxGain Systems, it appears that their nomenclature is simple.  The first number is maximum C in mmfd (in those days), the next appears to be the minimum C, and the last number is the voltage rating in kilovolts.  If you measure the capacitance, does that seem to bear some resemblance to the truth?  There seem to be quite a few fixed D and W vacuum capacitors around and, of course, their nomenclature omits the minimum C number.
I tried to sell a few vacuum variables at Deerfield a couple years back and wasn't able to generate much excitement.  Things aren't as they used to be.
