FREE - One Thordarson plate transformer #T45466 rated at 7500 VA, 220 vac primary and 5400 vac at 1.38 amps secondary!  I believe that this may be a CCS rating.  You can use a variac to adjust the output voltage, here are a few combinations for consideration, (all require a full wave bridge rectifier design):

a) With 120 vac on the primary, the secondary voltage with a choke input filter would be about 2650 vdc; if you added a buck-boost transformer on the primary the output voltage could be raised to 3700 vdc, or lowered to 1590 vdc.

b) With 240 vac on the primary, the secondary voltage with a choke input would be about 5300 vdc; if you added a buck-boost transformer on the primary the output voltage could be lowered to 4240 vdc. (you could also raise the voltage as well)

This transformer weighs about 200 pounds or so and is located at my QTH in Cinnaminson, New Jersey for pick up.
