« on: June 06, 2018, 09:11:23 AM »

Hello AM Lovers,

During some days Ten meter band is open in Europa, I had some qso's in AM with:

29020: I5KAP, Franco, max. S6
29000: IW5EKR, Aldo, max. S7

My (pe1mph) equipment: Yaesu FT 901 DM, antenna wire (dipole), running +/- 10 Watts.
Franco equipment: antenna 4 elements yagi 20 meters above the ground, running 40 W.

Evenso I heard: French station F5VIG in AM on Ten.
A pity he did not heard me....

Hi Henk..for two days now I've heard activity on 10mtrs coming from Europa..I did not listen on AM..29.000 and up but in the SSB portion there were at least a dozen stations calling CQ..an IU7 was at S9 or better but had his yagi pointed north so he did not hear me..there seems to be an improvement in 10mtr activity as to cross east to west at times..who knows as my logbooks show contacts on AM even in the summertime here but that was in the middle of the last cycle..the AM lash up is standing by..ya never know!

Hello Dave and other readers,
During the afternoon I did hear no AM from the USA!
But in the evening I heard AM from France and Italy.

When I can not receive the FM Repeater New York on 29.620....
Then I know there are NO openings to the USA, for AM!

Greetings,

H,

I would still try. Sometines the MUF will not get that heigh, but will support comunication a bit lower in frequency.
