I wonder if the new interest has anything to do with the ease of getting on RTTY now.  Pretty basic when coupled with an SDR, and a few of the chicom sdr based hf qrp radios have it built in now as well....

Yeah, not too many current loops running model 19's these days.
I'd forgotten about the "mixed up" keyboard lettering until I tried to use the one up in Kodiak Island (radio club set up in WWII bunker north end of island) when visiting my sister some years ago.  Started up qwerty typing and got laughed at.

And here's more from the "darkside."

This Digi-stuff is just phenomenal.  JT-8 Signals from below the background noise.
Way message limited and certainly not a fun, buzzardly, wandering AM QSO but
what a way to capture JA's.
