Question:

When the Icom 7300 tuner is off, does the set default to 50 + j0 at the jack?

Thanks!

Most 'new' radios are designed to 'work' into a 50 ohm load.

I hope you're not asking,  "   If I had the radio tuner on, and tuned to a frequency, does the tuner default to the standard 50 ohm load if the tuner is tuned off?

My Icom stuff stays tuned to where it was when the tuner is turned off. But I don't know for sure what the 3000 does.

The source Z of all these rigs is 50 ohm +/- X furlongs per fortnights.   Grin  Which means you need to present a 50 ohm load no matter what.  With the internal tuner turned on - all bets are off unless you present the same impedance to it as the last time you pressed the 'TUNE' button
