Hallicrafters SX88 New Cast Aluminum Bezel  $550

I had a pattern developed to make a cast aluminum front panel bezel for my Hallicrafters SX88 Radio. All the features and radiuses that are visible on the front side of the bezel were duplicated.  The backside of the bezel was simplified with some minor changes to provide a better casting quality.
These features can be seen in the photos. The few reproduced bezel that I have seen in the past, did not accurately duplicate these (front side) features and radiuses that the original bezel had. This one does and looks correct.
After being cast, the bezel was machined on the back side of the mounting flanged surface, so it would sit nicely on the SX88 front panel. Casting dross and minor slag was filed smooth and the front visible surface of the bezel was sanded to give a smooth surface.  No hole for mounting the bezel or for the glass mounting clips have been drilled since my front panel had the original holes elongated by the previous owner to fit the warped zinc panel as shown in the photos. Drilling holes using my front panel as a guide could provide incorrect mounting holes.
The finish the panel will require holes to be drilled and tapped as noted, final sanding, priming and finish coat. Home Depot sell a nice flat Rust-Oleum Hammered Spray Paint and primer that looks great and completely covers the minor surface indications in the casting.
I have the ability to make more of these if there is any interest.
This project has taken 6 months and many hours talking, visiting and corresponding with foundries and patterns makers, it been a costly endeavor and I am trying to amortize some of my costs. I also looked at CNC machining from a !" aluminum plate but the cost to develop the program was too high to justify a few bezels, the radiused and features on the front could not be duplicaded and the several shops I talked to were not interested if less that 50 pieces. I also evaluated making 3D bezels but found that the programing was too expensive - but who would want a plastic bezel anyway!
Price as noted is for the casting as shown including delivery to a USA address.
I can provide discount for 6 or more bezels (the castings get cheaper with quantity) Call for more information.
Note: I have listed the bezel on eBay for $650 to cover eBay and PayPal fees - They are $100 cheaper here.

Thanks,
