Something happened to my thread. Meanwhile Al sent me a photo of Rosie , the reigning Queen of AM ham radio listening at the operating position. As I had mention on the Monday AM morning ops VE3ELQ Nigel mentioned go us (KA2J, WB2EJG, WB2KPA and me VE3LYX thst he had resucued a stray cat and was caring for it in his garage as they already had one. A couple of hours later Radio as we call her was on her way here.  Here she is exploring my AM operating position. We are hoping somedsy Rosie and Radio will have a QSO. I have heard Rosie on.the air so I know she will have to work hard to reach that level.  Poppa Nigel was here to.make sure Radio was settling in well.

Thanks Don for the repost.

Rosie is a rescue cat that had a serious medical problem. Thankfully, modern medicine brought her back.  I keep her out here in the shack to keep an eye on her eating and yes the end  result.

She really enjoys the sound of HIFI AM so I know she must have royalty somewhere in her background  Grin

We had a Heathkit and a Collins here among the many cats we've had here over the years. Only one left now, Rudy who is pushing 16 human years.  Pretty spry, but seems to have feline "sundowning" at night,  he walks around yowling for minutes at a time very loudly.  Doesn't come down to the basement so he's never been on the air.

If you ignore them, they'll make themselves known.

Don its wonderful that the 3705AM abandoned kitty, now Radio, found a good home with you and Linda. Ham radio rescues another one. She is a sweet little cat and its great to see she has settled in with her new Human friends and likes the ham shack. My cat Missy rarely visits the radio room so she probably wont be in any kitty QSOs anytime soon.  Good luck with her and look forward to regular "kitty reports" on 3705 AM.

Radio has settled in. She was in the shack with me this morning when I was talking to the 3705 group. Now she is having a cat nap while I have my coffee. Very relaxed. She is starting to talk a bit.

Yes. I didnt expect her to get up there. I will be building a protector immediately.  In the pic the key is functioning as press to talk for my Collins TCS11 which is what I have been using for 3705khx morning AM. The rig is rated at 20watts AM and 40W CW although I dont use it on CW. Brcayse most if the people I am taliking with are running  150 to 400watts out I have been the PW in the group. As the group expands it becomes difficult for some so latr thus morning I tuned up the B&W 5100 on freq and ran  a quick signal check . That will eliminate the hot j38 and multiply my power out substantially.  My heart though is running the old PT boat Collins TCS11. Carbon mike and all.

After losing my 19 year old Petey at the end of June, I've got a new buddy. I have adopted Abby. She's a female a little over 15 months old. I had long forgotten the difference between a geriatric cat and a youngster. She's a live wire!  Shocked

Abby is a 15 month old shelter cat and I'm her third owner! She arrived at the shelter with an injured and infected front leg. She was adopted by a family. They brought her back due to someone having a cat allergy. She was adopted again but they decided that they were too busy for a cat. The third time was a charm because she's here with me now and I'm not going to dump her. She's such a sweet little cat, I can't imagine why somebody would throw her away.

What a beautiful kitty.

I seen beat up cats, old cats, cats with odd features, silly looking cats, but never seen an ugly cat. Not one.
