Hi Folks,

Got a box along with a BC348M and a bunch of other things. It has holes for PL259 on each end and 3 compartments inside. The orginial owner used it to store some tubes but I was wondering if anyone know what it was really for? It's marked F15/U CAQW 338 DAY DE RC

Thanks 73
Kevin

It was a filter,  I have one that I think I took apart.  Still have the box and cover.  May still have a complete one, have to look.

I just wanted to say that is a beautiful BC-348. You just don't find many in that condition any more. Have you repainted?

Nope, it's not a repaint. I haven't opened it yet but it has an AC cord so it at least has that conversion. i'll be reading up in all my electric radios etc and get the bc348 going. ill bet it works but i dont want to just power it up. i got it along with a bunch of other radios and related stuff. the owners were were my uncle inlaw's wife's family. he was in the signal corp in japan  JA7SL/ and his wife W1NJJ used to talk to each other on ham radio during WWII. they were both avid hams and one of their daughters and husband were also avaid hams. i guess the ham next door and the locals didnt want any of the stuff because it was tube i.e. bc348, bc454, apache, hw-100, a dual 250th amplifier, a 3-1000z amplifier, rca acr155 receiver, sb301 and sb400,  a boat load of tubes, and a beautiful buzzardly 15amp powerstat variac.. and an old heathkit computer the OM built. I guess the only thing they wanted out of all that were the 2 D-104 mikes..
