Have any of you noticed the broadband HF dipole on top of the Russian consulate building in San Francisco?
It looks like there is a three wire cage due to the  triangular spacers.

Isn't that the consulate that was ordered closed?

Might explain some black smoke.......

Yep, much burning of documents and perhaps some electronics gadgetry.

The Russian Consulate is on Pacific Heights a very expensive part of San Francisco, I remember back in the 80's when there was large Navy presence in the Bay Area, Alameda Naval Air Station and Mare Island Navy bases, they had LOTS of antennas on the roof of the consulate. Some of the neighbors complained about the "unsightly antennas", pretty is important in SF.

So the Russians built a privacy fence along the roof perimeter to hide those antennas.

Don 't remember where the Soviet embassy was in the late 60's; been too long since I was stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco.  In any event, they had numerous antennas on the roof then, too. Land based version of a Russian trawler, so to speak. The Army and Air Force had a lot of activity in San Francisco in addition to the Navy in those days.
