Valiant reduction drive grease?

I'm ready to reinstall the drive back into my Valiant, I have some white lithium grease, will that be okay to lube it up with? If you don't recommend this grease what can I buy at an auto parts store or from Walmart? I was trying to buy some phonolube but it is out of stock everywhere, possibly replaced with another product.

Phonolube =  NG.
It dries and gets hard.

Any good standard "thick" grease ought to work. No fiber (some bearing grease has fiber)

Old school straight "grease" would be ideal, no Moly, no nothing.
I have an ancient tin can of Texaco grease from maybe the late 40s or early 50s.
Great for this sort of thing.

You only want/need viscosity.

Try it, if it fails to work smoothly or transmit enough torque, rinse the grease out and
try a different one.

if the drive is a Jackson Ball type of drive, regular multi-purpose grease works. The trick is to work it into the ball drive. Agree with Bear on Phono-lube. Don't use.

Thanks guys, it's all back together, I may have made a mistake but I used some white lithium grease I had. I'll be making another post after I take a picture of an issue I found under the chassis.
