Late Breaking PW News!

Bill/ KE1GF, became an official PW member tonight.
[Official PisWeaker Station, OPS]  He made a 30 minute
contact with other official PW rigs/stations at about 4PM
on 3875.. His rig qualified by being homebrew,  10 watts
or less, transmits AM, built on one chassis/container and
he successfully communicated with it in a QSO lasting at
least 30 minutes with another official PW member.
[low level hi-fi outboard audio is permitted, if desired]
As an official member, he now can review and induct
other PW candidates into the PW Society who pass the
same requirements...

Bill's the first new member inducted since over 25 members
qualified nine years ago. He is also one of the first to do it
with an all solid state PW rig.  His rig sounded very hi-fi at
one watt tonight, running S9+20 over at times.  Rich/K1ETP,
also an original PW founding member, was present in the QSO.

We look forward to more guys getting their rigs on and joining
up. If you complete your rig and desire to get inducted, you
should get on with your PW rig between 3:30 - 4:30PM EST
and call CQ looking for official  PW stations between 3870 -3890.
Or just ask around as to who is a PW member and make a
sked.  Later on we will hold a net and possibly do 40M too
so that stations farther out can participate.

Back in 1996 we also had local chapters that started up in
other parts of the country. Consider getting a group started
if you are not in the Northeastern W1, W2 or W3 areas.   Let
us know how you are doing there with posts on this BB.

BTW, does anyone have a digital photo of the PW logo, the
one that was on the founding member certificate?

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Here's a picture of Tim/WA1HLR's [Guru Trogladite] PW rig.

He built it about nine years ago. It uses a single 6AQ5 plate
modulated by a push-pull  dual section 12AX7.  Solid
construction and a great sounding 1 watt rig.  19" rack panel -
I've seen it myself, beautiful!

Yes, Tim's rig is built so well. In the previous picture back a
few posts, notice how he uses a front panel, a rear panel and
then bent a piece of aluminum into a "U" to form the chassis.
Very obtainable by most guys. One could even use angle channel
stock to bolt the sheets to for the chassis instead of bending it on
a brake.

BTW, Rich, you were axing about posting a picture yesterday.
You need to right click on your individual picture and select,
"properties". Then copy and paste the ".jpg. file that appears.
You used the page .htm adr instead, so it does not work.  Everyone
makes that same mistake the first time...  Cheesy  Try right clicking
on your picture below and select "properties" to see the proper
adr appear for this use.

Here it is:
Yes, a FB Cakepan - and I see another in the background!
