If you posted a picture it did not come through.
One of the factory cabinets shown in the manual had rounded corners on the sides and squared edges top and bottom.  The top cover was hinged to open with a round pull.  The vent holes on the top and the sides were little squares.  The picture in the book also has carry handles on the sides.

$350 is way lot for any cabinet.

Ok, thanks Tom.  I just post link to Epay picture on my thread.

I thought the corners you had described were aftermarket enclosure that some tin knockers had produced for all the rack mount military gear that ended up in Ham Shacks.  Now I'm wondering if there might have been a production change somewhere along the way where cabinat was changed by Hammarlund.  I might be thinking of some other box that had round corners.

Anyway, Epay box is very nice, but could be built in quantity 100 for I would guess near 100 bucks.  Someone else would know much better.

Looks like your original post is now gone... lost in the ether.

I'll have a search of epay and see if I can find what you are looking at.

Bob,

I checked out that cabinet.  Its generic.  The sides are rolled like the original but the original had small square bent holes on the opening top and the sides.  The top latch was a ring like they used on the Bud cabinets.  The new one on epay is a slide.

Notice you would have to cut out an area for access to the antenna connections on an SP600.  They are up higher than the supplied back panel opening.

Not being sure what you are after, originality or a good looking generic, I bet you could find either at a sweeter price.

A sweeter price is what I'm after.  I just thought $350 was a little optomistic for a box that didn't come with radio.  Thanks for the research.
