I've taken the decision to sell this 4-1000 linear.
I acquired it and another recently from an SK estate.
It is HB.
Made to look like a Collins 32V transmitter. It is NOT a Collins.
Large enough to make it a plate modulated rig if you wanted to.
Substantial size plate iron. Seems to be ~4kv.
Likely to have 240v & 120v primaries, but iirc it's 240v (you need 240 for a 4-1000 anyhow).
Vacuum variable caps.
You can see the crank type adjusters for the ANT and PLATE loading...
Large B&W tank coil/switch.
Eimac air system socket w/chimney & blower.
Medium (not B+ I don't think) sized variac. Like 1kva size.
Construction quality is "good". Nothing to ratty, but less good in some places like the PS
than in the RF deck which I rate as pretty good.
(btw, that's NOT a genuine Collins badge on the front - would be sweet if it was)
No clue on the schematic, you figure it out.
It's not going to be "plug n play". While it might run, I'd go through it carefully myself
if I wanted to use it.
I've added up the parts value of just the main elements (socket, caps, tank, cranks, etc.) and
without the PS parts it looks pretty darn close to what I'm asking for the whole shebang.
So, $700 w/o a 4-1000.
And $850 with a 4-1000. However, I have not fired up any of the 4-1000 that came with the rigs.
They were in the rigs, and presumed to work.
Haven't shot pix of the innards, but IF there is any interest, I will supply.
I plan to schlep this down to the SUSSEX NJ hamfest on Sunday.
Will also have some nice aluminum frame racks (they break down and will fit in many cars).
This can be seen in Albany NY, if it is not sold, or you get here before Sunday. (or it comes back with me)
Possibly I will meet someone 1/2 way or possibly deliver within <100miles approximately, as negotiated.
Sorry for the so-so photos. The first one is as it was found.
The second one, not so great either is how it arrived at my QTH, sitting next to the shorter linear (tan).
