Nice article in the newsletter Steve. WO3M's rig pix magnified with lots of detail on my iPad.  Now that's a set of vintage racks. Check out his link coupling and ladder line too.

lifted the grounded end of the receiver's RF/IF gain pot, and put a 15 kW potentiometer in line to adjust the side tone level.

15 KW POTENTIOMETER???  WOW!!!   Shocked

Yikes!   Hope that club had their liability insurance paid up. A hot setup like that is just egging for some passer-by Johnny Novice Hambone to do a touchy-feely when the juice is on...  Shocked

Some JJ Plexiglas would solve the problem.

15 KW pot, indeed... :-)  Could they mean 15 KW Panama Red?

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Don't need any lawyer.
1.) JN will learn just like all the rest of us did.  "Ya-Hotta-ding."
2.)Look closer at op. and realize difference between church and state.
3.) vis, What money?

Looks real nice, but not too smart.

The "Cone of Silence" reference always comes up when trying to get a multi-location teleconference started.  They rarely if ever go smoothly.

I always enjoyed it when a fly got trapped under the cone with Max and the Chief.

ARRL misprint, should have simply read "15K pot....".  More details on setup and video here:
