I am close to a GREAT little place with much more in actual parts and components than RS ever had:

Wayne Electronics is my go-to place when I need quality parts locally sourced. They're not very far off my route to the office. I hope they survive for a very long time.

Been going there for years, but the owner is looking to sell. Heard it from a few people. I can find most anything I need there. You would never know it by looking at the place from outside.

Can't verify the accuracy , but the Radio Shack corporate web site store locator is still showing a lot of operating stores.  It appears correct for around here in that there are no stores listed in CT or RI any more.  Searching for the stores closest to me shows that they are currently in Bridgehampton, LI and on Cape Cod.

The store here in Savannah closed, and it looks like all the stores up in Atlanta are gone.  The few that do show up in the locator are out in relatively small towns, and too long a drive to be useful.  Looks like Dallas/Ft Worth is all closed down, too, except for one store west of Ft. Worth in Weatherford. Appears the death knell has sounded resoundingly ..

I wonder if the remaining stores are privately owned businesses that sold Shaft stuff as a side line....   use the map and check out the names....

the RS website has an online auction going on with a lot of archived material. Material that includes old hardware, software, paper materials, nostalgic items, etc.

RS is done folks. The remaining will fold as well in time. Sad.
