Attached is a list of suitable commercially available (surplus) International Rectifier plug in tube substitutions for 5U4, 5R4 etc. Enjoy and happy rectification.

The ST12 - 8020 40KV type - is the perfect negative peak limiter going between the keep alive and the modulated plate supply. Been abusing one like that here for a long time and never a problem. Don't worry on the 100mA rating, peaks are 700mA and in the keep alive service the current is well within spec
