Yep, he's moving on to the "BIG MONEY" job.

Private sector here he comes!

I doubt if you will notice any changes once Powell is gone. The FCC chairman is probably a powerless figurehead whose strings are being pulled from the White House.

I agree.  Some other empty suit will take his place.

Just saw who they are seating in that chair next.
Not Technical - a lawyer!
He looks like somebody's little brother. Or maybe I am just getting old.
I don't know but I don't think it bodes well for us and BPL.

You're never gonna have a technical person in charge of the FCC.  No need.  97.223% of the Feces workload is lawyer yada-yada.

Hams tend to think of the FCC as a technical organization - which would be wrong, as the Enforcement and Engineering bureaus are very small in comparison to the rest of the organization.

There is just one thing none of us should forget. A political man is just in it for the power and the smell of success.

I guess it'll be the SSDD scenario and a "crap shoot" with whoever is Powell's successor. At least Powell is out of office and can no longer be the cheerleader (along with his other backstabbers and ballwashers) for BPL.  Gallagher in particular infuriates me. I called her on the telefonium and couldn't get past her personal toadee. I wanted to explain the pitfalls of BPL.

I wish Powell would move next door to me and have BPL in my area. I'd fire up the BC1-T 24/7 and give him a taste of his own medicine.

Do I have a negative attitude?Huh?
