My trip RT2 South yesterday I notice the tips of the trees are turning red.
It won't be long now.
I don't think it was from the RF coming off Tom Vu mountian.

The buds have been out on the Oak trees here in  New Jersey for a month already.

Same thing here Steve, I can just now see the top of the barn roof as the snow melts.

By August I may be able to open the doors.

Naw, it wasn't me. I was using my Pisweaker most of the weekend.

sigh.... I've got so much antenna work planned and tired of drawing, modeling, etc - will be a relief to do  some r-e-a-l   m-a-n  ACTION out there for a change, instead of sitting on my ass and dreaming, caw mawn.

Dog turds in the front yard are still frozen solid here in the Airy Mount...  I'm getting REALLY sick of this cold wx.

easier to fling them with a shovel when they are hard.
They don't leave skid marks on the shovel.

Geese were flying over a few days ago --
I think they were going north.  Maybe they
were still going south?  We won't see daffodils
blooming on our hilltop until mid-May.

Got a good month and a half to go before
we can start looking forward to any real
spring-type weather.  Three years ago we woke
up on May 15 to find several inches of snow
on the ground.

Yep, 2 weekends ago I was looking at the maple tree I had planted 2 years ago and noticed that there were buds on the tips.  Anytime soon as Frank said.

Spring has been here for a long time already.....You folks on the eastern half got all the winter this year... We have been sitting under a high pressure umbrella here in the Pacific Northwest for 7 weeks!!!!...Very unusual... No rain or snow......Ski resorts all pissing and moaning, Farmers crying, Forests already too dry... Nice weather, but the drought continues it's 5th year here....My place is in the woods... Hope it doesn't burn this summer.... Mild winter in SW Alaska as well... Not too much moisture.. Never did get enough ice to support a winter project I had planned near Merrill Pass....Hide and Watch......

Up there I thought you had 9 months of winter followed by  3 months of spring/summer/fall.

But think of the quiet band condx in winter and all the QRN in the spring and summer.

Besides, how can you possibly put up an antenna when the temp is above freezing, or climb a tower when there is no ice on it?

It will be 50 degrees here today. It was almost 60 over the weekend.

The buds are on the trees.

The tulips are already up through the ground.

The robins have already arrived.

The Canada Geese have come and gone.

The spring peepers are beginning to peep.

I feel sorry for you guys in the snow belt. Enjoy the black flies when it does finally warm up!

Geese never leave this area now. Past 10 or 15 years they seem to like winter here. Crap like a dog everywhere they hang out.

Mark - Oboy.  I mowed the lawn once last summer and missed one land mine and it spat crap on the XYL's nice shiny white Crown Vic.  Now my XYL is usually patient as hell with me but for some reason that didn't sit too well (guess i can't really blame her!).  Needless to say I'm pretty careful about that now!

It's a LOT easier to pick 'em up when they're fruzzen solid.

Gee, I don't have that problem here.  Yaz has to walk around with a bucket strapped to his ass while I follow him with a pooper scooper just in case he misses...

[Actually, I also have more than my share of frozen Baby Ruths hidng in the snow]

I'll be moving just south of you in a few years Steve. Somewhere near the Greensboro NC area. I can't wait!! 10-20 acres for antennas and no more stinkin cold wx OM!!! Well, maybe a little but not like up here!

You're likely to receive more snow than I do here. Greensboro is quite a bit west of here. Being close to the Bay and the Atlantic really moderates the winter temps here. Still, it won't be anything like NY WX!

Received not more than a few inches of snow here all winter long. The few times it did snow, it didn't lay on the ground - the turf was too warm. The few times an accumulation occurred, it was gone in a day to two.

"Ayuh!  Heah in New Hampsha' we got 10 months of Winta' and 2 months of hard sleddin'! "

This year, it sure is heading that way!  A week ago on the commute in, I counted 9 vehicles off the road from the snow, including one tractor trailer and one Nissan I saw nicely spin off the highway into the snowy medium.

Yep, this year we are going to go from Winter right into black fly (NH State Bird) season.  Bring your fly dope to Hosstraders!

Hey Jack,
Yuppies can't drive up your way either ah. Last week some clown tried to pass a line of cars on the right and found himself all alone sitting sideways.
