I am re-starting my SX-28 work after a long break.

I cannot find R5.  My SX-28 is an early model. 1941.  The schematic shows the resistor between the 280V supply and the plate of V1.  Of course it shows this connection as going through RF coils common and the wafer switch.  I see C16, the filter cap to ground.

There is a 500 ohm resistor on top of the wafer switch (third from the back) but I don't think it is R5, which is listed as 3000 ohms.  I cannot find this 500 ohm resistor in the schematic, but I DO find a similar resistor in a later schematic...  Sigh.  Picture of that resistor attached.

Thanks

Rich

Could it be this?  It looks to be in the right place electrically but it looks like a tubular cap to me....

Some resistors looked like that back in the "good old days"

You can try to do a continuity verification from each lead of the component back to where supposedly each lead is connected (i.e. 0 ohms).

Great!  That's it alright.  I also found R10, super hidden!

Thanks for the help.
