Hello AM Lovers,

This morning I made a little recording from a BC on 7295 khz.
So you can hear how it is sounding out the speaker of the Kenwood R-5000.
I am not sure but I guess it is comming from Iran?
If you want, see: http://www.freqspotter.com/search.php?search=frequency&freq_type=hertz&q=7295000

Every morning by me, 06.10 - 06.30 (4.10 - 4.30 GMT), I can hear a BC on that freq.
But this morning the signal were strong S9+, with (ofcourse) fading.

And close to this BC, 7290 & 7300, the freq. is not clean....
Around 7282 khz I hear often a carrier with very weak audio?
Mostly around 7270 khz is the band clean, but not always...
Hi, hi.... we may not transmit above 7200 khz, but I can listen!

Better to use, for us in Europe, is for example between 7150 - 7160 for AM.
Perhaps I can hear in the future AM stations from the USA there....
A pity that part can be in use by ssb stations!

Before I go to my work, on my bike, I listen between above time.
Maybe I hear a station talking and I can give the calls/names below in the Item.

Oh by the way, if you like read: http://www.dkars.nl/index.php?page=magazine
With some AM news writen by me....

Greetings,

In the evenings N5AEA and I often try 7.285 MHz.

Apparently this is an Arabic language station that fires up at 4:00 UTC from the middle of France with 500 KW, on 7295 Radio Algerienne Holy Quran Arabic.

I have to agree with others (as found on another blog), it is very obnoxious.

They start out with very annoying martial sounding music, like something out of Germany in the 1930s, then switch to an Islamic prayer call.

Their sideband garbage wipes out the band from 7.290 to 7.300 MHz.
