Hello, Folks!  Now that Datak and their LETRASET sets are history, where in blazes can I locate a set of white lettering (preferably Electronic words like 'TRANSMIT' or 'STANDBY')?? The only source I can find online, Russell Inds. in the NY area, has one, but NO LONGER available in white! Sad

Does anyone on the LIst have a lead for me? Would sure appreciate some help.

This is not what you have stated you are looking for, but here's another path to get where you are going.  Check out a company called FrontPanelExpress.  They have free software on site that lets you lay out front panels and include engraved lettering with contrasting colors in the letters, bandswitch lines, meter holes cut in and everything you want for a professional panel.  Prices aren't prohibitive, depending on one's budget.
I will be doing one up for an amplifier I'm finishing up.  When I come to the point where I'm happy with it, I'll remove my existing, less than perfect, front panel and document it into their software with measurements.  They feed it into a magic CNC machine and presto-change-o, boys and girls,  out comes a bolt on panel with no Dymo labels or Sharpie markers.
By the time you finish mucking about with dry transfers, and settling for available label words rather than what you really want, it may not be much more expensive, depending on the size of your project.

Radio Daze has water transfer decal sets. They have full sets for specific radio models, and general sets with common control markings.  They can make custom sets if desired.   Great people.

P touch.
White on clear, you can print any words you want, in various sizes, plus you can remove them and re do them or move them.
They have white on black, white on clear, black on white, black on clear, etc.

I had a mess of dry transfers that no longer stuck.

I have done both, and like the P touch better.
My early projects were dry transfer with clear coat paint over it.
Worked fine when they stuck...

I always finish my panels with a few coats of clear after lettering.

P-touch is a line of handheld thermal label printers by Brother Industries, available at Staples and other sources.

I've used ezscreenprint which is a silk screening labeling process.  Works pretty good and is inexpensive for a more permanent and pro looking result.

I would love to get a link for EZSCREENPRINT, I guess I can Google it, unless you know the destination.

I can't find that tape around here.  I love P-Touch.  It's just that white on clear background is missing

Certainly not what you asked for, but here are 3 examples of the P-touch machine.   Not as good as silk screening or some press on's, but pretty nice looking when you over spray with a couple coats of flat clear.    Faster, by Light years than any of the other schemes.  They have tons of different colored lettering and backgrounds.   Cartridges are fairly cheap on the bay.

Al,

Evil pay, about half the price of retail, and often free shipping.  Look in the manual for the actual Brother P/Ns.

At the risk of reviving an old topic, I had to search for transfer lettering and found these, some of which also offer products that one can print letters and images to special plastic/paper and then transfer the same way apparently.
