Well I finally got the Viking Bud back on the air yesterday and had a good QSO with Steve WA1QIX and others. Seems to be working fine.

It is now setup as a transceiver with Frank's (KB3AHE) old R390A. Plug in the rack and hook the antenna up. All the T/R switching is handled by the box on top. The only thing I'm gonna change is the receiver audio setup. The little speaker in the box is a bit yellowee. I have a nice audio stage amp I'll be driving off the diode load output of the 390A.

Now there's a little walk down AM-Memory Lane. Had many-a-contact with you and that transmitter over the years before the Drake came into the picture. A perfect mate for Slab's old receiver.

Good to see you have it back up and ready to roll for quieter radio conditions. Reminds me that I need to get re-focused here to get the station back in shape.

Looking forward to working you soon, Buddly.
