Don't think similar thoughts haven't crossed my mind. Blunt, heavy objects too, like hammers or my head, or....that's when I realized the transmitter wasn't the problem, it was just smarter than me.

Went out the other night to see what was up on 40m and the Mohawk decided to start having receive issues, sounds like a cap or something in the AGC circuit. I took this as a hint from the radio gods to go do something else. So I'm going back to work on the flat head V8. At least I've been making steady, forward progress with that.

BTW Joe - I wish you lived closer, too. Only problem is, fixing the problems in my station could prove to be the proverbial black hole. At least radio is still fun.  And Rob's SDR is looking pretty damned good! Cheesy
