I've been using a Vx-2000 and various mics on my big rigs for quite some time now with good results....I just got another vx-2000 and a B-1 MIC that I would like to use on my FT-102...My 102 just got the Mal nc4l AM overshoot mod.....(works great)   My question is:  Should I put the audio from this setup into the mic input or use the phone patch audio input??  or is there a better way??  I haven't tried anything yet, I'm just sitting here thinking about it....I know that quite a few of you have external audio on the ft 102 and other riceboxes so I'm interested in your experiences...  73 Steve

I use a VX-2000 and RE-20 on my FT-102.  I feed the audio directly in to the phone patch input after having done the audio modifications.  The input needs to be padded down.  The modifications are posted at the AM Window site under the technical section.  Look for mods by W3DUQ.  The link to the site is at the top of this bulletin board's home page.  Good luck.
