I was thinking of selling at Timonium this year.
I'm selling some radio stuff as well as five cases of new old stock owners manuals for GM, Ford, Chrysler
And a bunch of Import models. Also service manuals.
If you guys have stuff to sell bring it and I'll make room for it on my table.
Looking into the details they suggest getting a Maryland tax permit from the tax Mafia.
My Question is should I get this permit ? or  is it a waste of money?
Thanks.

I pay the Maryland tax mafia every year... as a MD resident they have me by the scrote.  I suggest NOT getting the permit and let the MD Mafia send you a letter demanding payment of taxes.  When I get the bill I just send 'em a check based upon what I estimate I sold - by the time I get the bill I can't remember nor do I really keep track (I really oughta though).

I think the tax # is really meant for regular businesses not hamfest goobers like us.

IIRC last year I didn't get a bill from the tax mafia.... hmmmm.

Every year that I sell at Timonium in the Spring, I always get a MD tax form after the hamfest ends. Generally comes 2 to 4 weeks after the hamfest ends. Like John, I do an estimate of sales, compute the sales tax, and send it in. Have never got one for the July hamfest. According to them, if you derive revenue from sales, it's MD taxable. I believe this is true in most states where sales tax is collected, but each state seems to have their own spin definition on what is considered taxable.
