Just thinking, have not heard either of these gentlemen on the air recently.

Used to hear Dirk every day on 75M.

Good, thanks for the feedback guys.

With the new QTH I will no longer have to drive 1 hour each way to play radio, so expect to be back on the air.

Maybe even get the Collins 20V fired up if I can run 230 out to the workshop.

Very impressive Bruce.  Hope to hear more of you on the hambands, especially below 3850.  There is no need for us to sit in the back of the bus anymore--especially since 1964.

Was it Sir Winston, or somebody else who said:

That's right Herb, my African soul bother.
I've thrown off my AM Slave Name and have freedom to move about the bands!

Now I can get up, walk across the yard and get on the air.
Sure beats the 45 minute commute (each way) that I used to have.

And it also means that I can get the Johnson 500 back from Buffalo Bill and warm up the bands again.

Mod-U-Later,
Bruce

Gee, Bruce.   I just looked at those before/after photos on the contractor's website.  A question:  What was wrong with leaving it the way it was?

Seriously, it looks like a gorgeous place and a great piece of land.  With all that room and natural supports, you ought to have some hi hi FB antennas and be strapping in short order.

Enjoy and congrats on the new home!

Hi Paul,

Can you say "Divorce"?
The gentleman I purchased the home from bought and totally restored all the buildings and home last year.
Scary before pixs, the guy really had a vision.

Then the "D" word happened and it all had to go away, quickly.
Amazing, radio played no part in the split.

Project one this weekend, get on the air from the new place and work my buddies back in NY state.

Holy smoke!  The big D, eh?  Well, his loss is your gain and it is a gorgeous place.  Bet you guys took one look and said, "Done!"

I'll be listening for you back here in New York.  What antenna are you planning to get up first?

Yep, that's right, the big "D".
I walked in, took a look around, and knew the realtor made a mistake on the price. Thankfully she did not, I bought it, and life moves forward.

My "real" antenna will be a dipole or loop fed with balanced line.
But my temporary antenna for this weekend will just be a G5RV, but it will get out and that is what mattters.

First thing I did when I bought the building for the biz was thrown up an antenna, same here.

Best thing is that the place can be run "off the grid". House and barn are both powered by a generator running on propane, big plus here in coastal Maine where the power is spotty.

During today's big snowstorm the power went off at my biz at 3:45PM, was not back on again at 4:30, sent the employees home.

Wonder if you guys got socked with the white stuff?
