I was just surfing the web, reading that and this,
and read the following:
If, "US amateurs, and those of all other countries, who wish move their principal residence to Canada should apply for a Canadian certificate with Canadian call sign, and must first pass the Canadian certificate examinations for Basic Qualification plus other Qualifications required for the privileges desired. Citizenship of Canada is not required."

Is this true?
I thought the US had some license agreement with VE-land....

Steve we do have an agreement. If visiting Canada, we can merely sign call/ve3(or whatever). The requirement you cited is if we as US citizens declare a permanent residence in Canada.

ya, I was wondering if I bought a place in VE-land,  wanted a VE call.
It sounds like you have to take a exam there.
