Hello AM Lovers,

This morning I awake aearly....
I thought: 'Lets try to make a qso on 80 mtrs in AM'!
With a (hot) cup of tea I walked to my studio....
The tubes were glowing (transmitter and modulator) .... and later I were on air.
I used the 'France' crystal 3710 khz, but.... when I listen...
A terrible sound on that freq.!

I listen by a webreceiver to check the freq.: http://sdr.radioandorra.org/

I saw a 'wide line' on the 80 mtrs band.
Between +/- 3710 - 3713 khz I heard the audio-noise!!!
So I did using the (little) usa crystal from 3709 khz, but...
Not easy to get it working, it takes some time to get that crystal 'locked'.
I tried with a variable pf to get it a bit lower in freq.
But when I did that, the crystal did not working anymore...

While I were busy I heard Jean F6AQK calling to Fortunato 9H1ES.
I wait.... and very short I did say hello and my call.
Hi, hi.... Jean did heard me!

Later I had a qso with F6AQK (France) and 9H1ES (Malta) in AM.
Here the results:
- F6AQK, Jean, max. S9 +20, nice audio
- 9H1ES, Fortunato, max. S7

I needed to listen in narrow bandwide, because on 3603 very strong ssb.
And on 3710 the terrible noise....
Jean were comming nicely out my speaker(s), but from Fortunato I missed a lot.
Therefore I listen evenso in ssb mode to hear more words from Fortunato.

Pretty to hear Jean and Fortunato, both are big AM-lovers!
This morning I heard no AM from the USA around 3885.

Greetings,
