I can imagine uses in shopping malls, airport terminals, patio listening without bothering neighbors .. sounds like a winner!

Oh Great, now we will be forced to listen to advertisements with no way to turn them off. Maybe our only defense will be to use aluminum foil beanies to deflect the beam of ultrasonic waves. Maybe these people actualy have something here:http://zapatopi.net/afdb.html
