I want to say thanks to John W3JN for delivering Frank's (KB3AHE) old R390A on Saturday morning. We had a good visit with he and his son Dean.

It was great seeing you again John and the receiver is up and running.

Buddly,

Its great that you have a piece of Franks old gear.   I am sure it will bring good thoughts while your using it.

Yep, I am sure the visit was a great one as well.

Even though I never talked to Frank, I built a copy of his folded antenna for use here, and thank him for his kind words here on the board.

Frank was quite the guy and would be the first in line to help anybody.  He sure is missed.

Its a shame that a lot of you never got to know him.  He was one of a kind in the best possible way.

Johnny is in that same group: very knowledgeable on a wide variety of things (especially radios & old cars). Always willing to help out, extremely generous with his time, parts, etc, an all-around great guy and funny as hell to boot! Those fortunate enough to be on Frank's email list will remember his wicked sense of humor. I have many of them saved.

Glad you got the receiver, Bud. I got a box of Frank's old radio tubes that have already helped breathe life into some sets. He would've been happy as hell to see the radio deals and hand-offs taking place in the church parking lot after his memorial service. Sometimes you just get this feeling....

I got a lot of good times in person and on the air, and a ton of memories of Frank.

Sounds like a mini fest at the memorial.

Never met Frank,  but I'm sure he approved judging from his posts.
