Hello to the group.

My link antenna tuner works fine.

In principle how well will this Ugly Balun" antenna system work? Will it work at all?

Here is the ugly balun layout.

The output of transceiver is connected to unbalanced antenna tuner.  The output of antenna tuner is connected to ugly coax balun.  The output of ugly coax balun is connected to ladder line.  The output of ladder line is connected to 80 meter doublet?

Thank you to all.

Merry Christmas.

I have never used one but.... I see an ugly balun is a wire wound choke, so you may want to build a 4:1 current balun.
