OK
I have a 833 rig using a 4-400 as an IPA. The mod transformer I'm using is a Gates BC1-T type from Peter Dahl. It has a winding that makes like 155 Volts AC to modulate the driver slightly in the original ckt. Suppose I took a heising choke & placed it in the 4-400 plate feed. Now I dump this AC through a cap onto the reactor. Would that slightly modulate the IPA stage and maybe boost the positive peaks? Or should I go back one stage and use it on the 6146's in the DX 100 driver that are making 20 watts or so to tickle the 4-400? Interesting thought..... I already know that Grid Drive is the most important thing to getting good audio with 833's.
