I use Logbook of the World. No printing needed for QSL.

Receiving a printed QSL makes me smile much bigger than seeing a line added to a database. Just saying. BTW, Looks like I'll be K5T --- now hopefully I can figure out why my 122 VFO is not working or I'll be rock-bound.

That's exactly what I do except I don't have a color laser printer. There isn't much to it. I create the card in paint
Patrick - I used MS Paint for the example I posted. MS stripped out some of the nicer features of Paint in the newer versions, but it's still a useful tool.

You can also look at http://www.amrally.com (which ultimately gets you to the main AM Transmitter Rally site).

The AM Transmitter Rally starts this Saturday. Rally rules & information: http://amfone.net/AMTR/AMTR-2015.html or www.amrally.comListen for these special event call signs reserved for the 2015 AM Transmitter Rally: K4K (by WA4JK) K5T (by KX5JT) W1E (by WA1QIX) W1G (by KB2WIG) W9T (by W9GT) Logging software can be download through the rally web page. For hand-written logs, Summary & Log sheets can be found here: www.qsl.net/k4rt/amtr/forms.htmFor logging purposes, the 2-letter Canadian province codes can be found here: http://www.comeexplorecanada.com/abbreviations.php The 2-letter international codes can be found here: http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/PTO/help/helpctry.htmIt is my understanding that no state QSO parties are scheduled for the weekend of Feb. 21-22. The only SSB contest scheduled for this weekend is the French HF Championship SSB contest. The AM Transmitter Rally is open to AM operators worldwide. 73, Brad K4RT

Should be a good weekend for phone operations. The only major contest this weekend is the ARRL International CW DX contest.

K4K will be on the air if I can get the darn ice off the phased inverted L's enough to get the vertical legs up off the grass. Else I'll be grass burner lowwww angle skipping. I use springs on the four corners to keep the wire tight and straight. They have allowed the wire to sag a bunch under the weight. See you on the air, if it tunes and rises with RF heat and melting.

Well I finally broke my arm to turn on the 32v, 75a, and wire combination y'day (Sat.) around noon on 40 to see if there was lots of activity. Started with w8lxj and worked that group. Some were interested in the event but most just wanted to chew the fat. A nice way to operate as most of the AM contests seem to be, operators choice.
It's always nice to see four or five simultaneous AM QSO's on a band.
Looks like a lot of weather shut-ins are happy to make fireside chats.

Philip,
Probably. I could hear Lamar & Phil pretty well, but the band was changing a bit.

Band was not great here. Could hear Timmy looking for a "real " microphone (carbon) probably for his ART13 and a couple of other fellows I have worked in the past. Band conditions were just borderline so I gave it a couple of shots but didn't prolong it. I didnt light up the amp as it just wasn't that good here. Later someone was testing and his partner was telling him it sounded horrible. I couldn't copy either well enough. Usually 40M is better then that that time of day. Tis too bad as I would liked to have worked a few. don

Photo from the rally. Not framed the best, but it's a selfie.
Don - what bands & times do you usually operate? I'll keep my ears open for you. I have yet to work a Canada AM station.

40M usually reading the mail between 10Am and 11 EST. Sometimes I jump in but not always. Maybe a couple of times per month. I don't have a huge power set up. Rig for 40 are a HB screen mod transceiver with a 6l6 final. A Dx60B and a twin 811A linear. (HB) A No 19 wireless set just acquired and got running. I am usually listening on 7290and 95 although there has been activity lower lately. Also have some 1929 Am capability with one tubers but usually only fire it in special weekends or when other power osc nuts want to try. Have worked your area with it though on 40M twice which is twice more then I had hoped for;>). On 80m I like the group south of me near Rochestor Syracuse etc. Dave and the group are always up for a test and have gone early in prenet to help me try something. That is huge to me. I use mostly my ARC5 there with a HB modulator. I dont know if I have worked east with this or not. Can't remember. Also have the DX60B and Amp set up for 80M. Usually 3705. However I am up for a sked in a heartbeat. Just needs to be a decent propagation day. What do you run? Stuff looks good in the pic.

Wonder how the participation will turn out. Seemed light to me. I tried to give out points but it seemed like few need them.

I worked a bunch of new stations on 40M- 7295KHz Saturday late night along with Ralph W3GL. Glad you got your pipes thawed out Ralph!
A good group (25 and counting when I left) on 3873 and a few of the old timers on 3885.
The What's for dinner net on 3733KHz at 5PM was on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
I even got the Viking Bud on the air again for the event. In all, a nice radio weekend.

75 meter conditions were amazing Saturday night. West coast strongest I think I've ever heard.
Lost power Saturday night late - had to use the generator, but everything worked...
Met a whole lot of new operators during the rally, and a couple of "first time on am" folks as well.

I had a great time on the big 85 on 75 meters Saturday night. Lots of AM on that frequency along with some down lower in the band.
I was even able to load the electronic log on my P.C. so that is a major step "forward" as compared to my ARRL log book! \
Thanks to those that made it happen.

Saturday was really nice. Too bad a evil SSB lid showed up and deliberately qrmed the west coast guys trying to work the east coast.
Budley.... is the late fer dinner net going to be on a regular basis?
Steve.. you earned the special W1G AMTR qsl card. Ifin u want it, I'll mail one out.
Joe, It was nice getting on the AWA AM PM net yesterday. You too earned the special W1G AMTR qsl card.
I think we should promote the event a bit more. Several opps asked watt was a happinin when they made the scene. Maybe a mention in the ARrRhhhhL, the Zed and eHam? Stabilizing the date would be helpful too. Third weekend in February?
