I recently had the unfortunate experience of having a audio output transformer smoke in my National HRO50T. It took a cathode resistor with it and heated up the main power supply choke quite well.

Anyone have any good known solvent/cleaner or method to rid a chassis of that burnt component smell ?

Pete is probably right.. or just give it a general cleaning with something like windex or 409 / fantstik. just make sure it doesnt strip something you want. maybe a shot of febreze if you have it wipe it and bake it off... I been able to get rid of most "odors" just with a gentle cleaning and baking (useage), I hope that helps  Smiley

The smoke probably deposited on some surfaces. maybe this can be seen in good light, or 'single color' light from LEDs.. just saying invisible stains sometimes show up in the right light and maybe there is a spot where it spewed more, that you can clean.
