Tolly, you are missing the big group on 3885. Not as good as last week, but fair signals into the west coast.

I'm recording them. But it's too noisy. Do they try BPL in Bay Area where each end every chickenhouse has a telephone?
Looks like my next project will be highly non-linear PA for my MARCONI INSTRUMENTS TF2091B NG

Well here I sit in the middle of a blizzard. I was in the shack with my son having a beer when I noticed the S meter bouncing (S7,S8) on the rig I had tuned to 3880 AM. I turned up the volume and low and behold I hear WA1KNX in the south west (Arizona maybe?) and Old Buzzard John in Florida.
Man I am impressed as all I have for an antenna is a 75 meter dipole up 1/4 wave.
By the way at the present time here in Scituate about 15 miles south of Boston on the coast at 1:30 AM we have 13 inches of snow and it is coming down to beat the band!
They say that we are expecting over 2 feet here!
Well I have the woodalene stove going and some brewskies!
Irish bacon for breakfast so I am all set! Caw Mawn

It turned out to be a good night after all. Had a long QSO with Skip, K7YOO on 3885 till near midnight ET. Then worked the following stations.

Code:
KB5SCK-Richard, Paris TX     FT-101

KF4TXQ-Sam, Dadeville, AL    T-408/URT-12 [Two 4-65's modulated by two] Rare Coast Guard TX

KI0LQ-Gene, St. Louis, MO     R-388, ART-13

W0DON-Don, Greely, CO     Worked him a few nights ago

Then I slid down to 3880 where there was a BIG group and worked the following stations

Code:
KC9VF-Marv, Elk City, OK     Big signal (5/9 +20-30)

WA0ZHH-Chuck, Midland, TX

K06MN-Mike, Woodland Hills, CA      Rolling in nicely as usual

WJ6W-Dave,  Tarzana, CA     Another big signal from CA

K7JEB-Jim, Glendale, AZ

WA1KNX-Deano, Tuscon, AZ  Loudest I've heard him from AZ, 5/9+20! WHIRLWIDE

WA6LGL-Skip,   Making the trip on his DX-100

K1KHP-John,  FL  OBJ Studio heard from

KB9EDM-Jerry, Cedar Grove, WI     Valiant/HQ-129X

W7CE - No copy

KD2XA-Chris, Mamaroneck, NY

KL7JS-Hiram, Nome, AK     Rottom QRM made copy tough

No, I brought a tape to the computer to share how I heard them, but they were not here. There were strong signals. But a noise was strong as well.

By he way gentlemen, it is the excellent propagation now, I hears East Cost very well while jammers did not start cracking. Why don't you fire up the biggest mauls for a ten minutes at the certain time over the whole country to clean to the hell the band from them?

Yes, Steve, I heard well, but east coast on my antenna sounded very noisy, probably some BPL experiments in Bay Area?

The next one will be a phased array for 75 meters! Cheesy

By the way, after that I've discovered that 6J7 in my receiver's 1'st converter was semidead! It was the single tube I did not replace before. Let's see how I'll hear tomorrow...
