I've been out of the shack for a week. vacation and grandkids in Oregon, returning to find 15-meters essentially dead.
Working on my R-390A at the bench with 21.430 Mhz tuned on the 75A4. Monitoring, and anxiously awaiting any AM signal to appear.
I checked on the antenna and its still in the air, though the eagles have built a nest in the tree at the far end of the long-wire and would appear to be perturbed Angry

Solar event?

Xray flux increased today with peaks just below storm level, though no alerts issued.  Chance of solar flares 35%.

SSB activity on 15 still good to Europe as I type; SSB activity on 20 meters is hopping to Europe and west coast; SSB activity on 10 meters open to Australia and South America; even 6 meters is open from the U.S. to South America. Am'ers must be searching for that imaginary  window which probably keeps them from making any noise.

calling CQ? yup .. on the hour.

I worked NV1P as he was driving home, running 25 watts to a hamstick.
He seemed so tickled .. said his friends won't believe him when he tells them he worked coast-to-coast on 15-meters AM from his car  Smiley
