For Sale: Dentron Clipperton L serial#398. OK, here is the story. I saw this amp advertised as NOS about three years ago. I was skeptical, but took a chance on it. When it arrived, I found the tubes wrapped in foam with ancient masking tape, stuffed inside the cabinet. The line fuse was taped to the top of the power transformer also with ancient masking tape. It was absolutely spotless inside. In short, after seeing it, I do believe that it had never been used. I plugged it in and had only about 500VDC on the tube plates…I figured it was a bad power supply filter section. I put it aside for about a year, and finally got around to rebuilding the power supply board. After I was finished, the voltages were correct and the amp worked great. I used it on the air about ten times with my Drake B-line and it worked very well. The Drake stuff is now gone, and I have nothing to use it with, so time to send it along to someone else. This amp uses four 572B's in GG. 120VAC or 220VAC primary power.

The pics show plate voltages of 1900 in the CW position, and about 2650 in the SSB position. Power output 600W on 20 meter CW. Inside is still spotless.

OK, there is some bad news as well. One of the knob inserts is missing, and the cabinet paint is scratched in a few places and worn off in some others as if something had been sitting on top of it for a while. It arrived with these flaws. No dents though. If you are good at painting, you should be able to make it look new. Original manual included. $600 shipped.
